The Incident Command System (ICS-100) Online Course

This ICS-100 e-learning course is an internationally recognized incident management system that allows Governments, Corporations and First responders to work together at emergency incidents regardless of the complexity and size.

The system has evolved over 35 years of practical application and is now considered ‘best practice’ across North America. Endorsed by the Federal and Provincial Governments of Canada and the US, it has been used at all recent major emergencies throughout North America.

Pre-course requirements

  • There are no pre-course requirements for ICS-100 however the courses must be taken in order of number.
  • English language skill level 6 or higher in IELTS, or equivalent is recommended, but not mandatory, for those whom the first language is not English.

Assessment

Mini-assessments at the end of each chapter and final test online with 25 quesions multiple-choice at the end of the course. 80% and above is required to pass.

Certificate

Students who completed both the course and successfully passed the test will be able to download an internationally accredited ICS-100 certificate.

This is a foundation level qualification, so there is not any formal qualification required to do the course.

The Incident Command System is a standardized on-site management system designed to allow responders to form an effective and efficient incident management team. By formally integrating facilities, people, equipment procedures and communications, incidents can be managed effectively and safely.

There are 4 levels of ICS training depending on the assigned tasks of individuals.
